Pulusu
This is a gravy mix that can used to make authentic south indian pulusu. Tastes good if paired with mudda pappu (plain cooked Lentils)
Ingredients
- Mustard seeds
- Chana dal
- Dried Red Chillies
- Root vegetables
- Oil
- Curry leaves
- Tamarind Juice
- Jaggery/Sugar
Method
- Root vegetables ( pumpkin, bottle guard, sweet potato etc)
- Add oil to the pan
- Add Chana dal , mustard and let them splutter
- Add dry red chillies and curry leaves( as per taste )
- Add the root vegetable and salt
- Let it cook till they are 50% done
- Add tamarind juice/paste as per taste
- Add jaggery/Sugar as per taste
- Cook till it is 90% done
- Mix the pulusu podi in water
- Add it to the curry
- Add water, salt and mirchi powder as per your taste and to achieve required consistency.
